The Connecticut Technical Education and Career System’s schools for aviation maintenance technicians are now accepting applications for the March 2022 class. Adult learners with an interest in aviation maintenance are encouraged to apply.
The aviation maintenance training program is offered at two locations approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); CT Aero Tech in Hartford, CT, and Stratford School for Aviation Maintenance Technicians in Stratford, CT. Both programs offer the same full-time, 20-month curriculum in General, Airframe and Power Plant.
Students receive extensive hands-on training in small classes with industry-experienced teachers. Instruction takes place in a facility equipped with real aircraft for practical training.
Students are exposed to a variety of theory and shop classes such as metalwork, woodwork, welding, hydraulics, electrical, electronics, painting and engine overhaul.
Upon successful completion of the curriculum, graduates are eligible to take the FAA examinations to certify as an Airframe and Power Plant Aviation Maintenance Technician.
